“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I FEAR NO EVIL, for YOU ARE WITH ME; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (Psa. 23:4)
Oh how comforting are these words, “you are with me.” The Lord says this to Isaiah for us, “Do not fear, for I AM WITH YOU; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I WILL HELP YOU, Surely I WILL UPHOLD YOU with My righteous right hand.” (Isa. 41:10)
The Lord speaks to Isaiah to encourage us with this “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! “When you pass through the waters, I WILL BE WITH YOU; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you…Do not fear, FOR I AM WITH YOU…” (Isa. 43:1-2, 5)
Because Jesus knows of our need for constant companionship He tells us, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that HE MAY BE WITH YOU FOREVER;” (John 14:15-16)
