ALL WRITTEN IN YOUR BOOK LORD…

“…Amram and Jochebed from the tribe of Levi got married. Jochebed gave birth to a son. (at this time all male babies were being killed) She saw that he was a SPECIAL BABY and kept him hidden for three monthsshe got a basket made of papyrus reeds and waterproofed it with tar and pitch. She put the baby in the basket and laid it the Nile River…it just so happened…Pharaoh’s daughter came down to bathe in the river, and her attendants saw the basket, she sent her maid to get it for her. When the princess opened itThe little boy was crying, and she felt sorry for him. “This must be one of the Hebrew children,” she said. Then the baby’s sister (Miriam) approachedShould I go and find one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby?” she asked. “Yes, do!” the princess replied. So the girl went and called Jochebed (the mother of Moses and Miriam).(Exodus 2:1-3, 5-8)

Of course, “…we know that all things WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.(Rom. 8:28) Just look at the good God did for Jochebed, Then Pharaoh’s daughter said, “Take this child away and NURSE HIM FOR ME, and I WILL GIVE YOU YOUR WAGES.” So the woman took the child and nursed him. And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. So she called his name Moses, saying, “Because I drew him out of the water.” (Exodus 2:9-10)

God had a plan to use Moses in about 80 years so, he had a lot to learn. When it came to education, Moses probably had the finest tutors available in the land. We know for sure, from written records, that they had a great university, in its time comparable in esteem to an Oxford or a Harvard today. He would have been instructed in astronomy, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, music, and art. The movie, The Ten Commandments, depicted this well. Undoubtedly, much of what he was taught was sheer foolishness—just as much in our modern universities teach a lot of foolishness. Nevertheless, the overall effect of what he learned filled him with knowledge and understanding that would stand him in a good position later. At 40 years of age Moses tried to help a Jewish man being beaten by an Egyptian, killing him, When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.(Exodus 2:15)

Moses married, had two children and live in the land of Midian for the next 40 years. We’ll see what happened tomorrow…
