“…this is what the LORD Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you TOUCHES THE APPLE OF HIS EYE…” (Zec. 2:8)
The phrase “APPLE OF THE EYE” is used in the scriptures to refer to something THAT IS PRECIOUS. For example, the Lord says “Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.” (Pro. 7:2). He wants His commandments to be DEAR and PRECIOUS in our eyes.
One of the most important foundations that must be constant in our heart is our knowledge and faith in our FATHER’S LOVE FOR US. We must know that whenever we are hurt, the Spirit of God feels the pain? He groans when He sees the wicked one torment and inflicts grief upon us. The tragedy that is happening to many of us today is that it is easier for us to believe in the judgment of God than in HIS GOODNESS AND LOVE FOR US. We cannot allow the devil fool us like this. We must remind ourselves that we are the APPLE OF HIS EYE. That is not an assumption, that is exactly what we are to Him! This is how much God loves us, “…even though WE WERE DEAD because of our sins, God GAVE US LIFE when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” (Eph. 2:5)
