“How can a young man keep his way pure? BY GUARDING IT (his way) according to your word. With MY WHOLE HEART I SEEK YOU; let me not wander from your commandments! I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Blessed are you, O LORD; teach me YOUR STATUTES!” (Psa. 119:9-12) “GUARDING IT,” to keep safe from harm or danger; protect; watch over.
What danger are we keeping the word from? “Suppose our good news is covered with a veil. Then it is veiled to those who are dying. THE GOD OF THIS WORLD HAS BLINDED THE MINDS OF THOSE WHO DON’T BELIEVE. So they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Corin. 4:4)
Satan has the ability to blind our minds from the glorious gospel, why? Because he is the god of THIS WORLD! Who made him the god of this world? We did, when we CONTINUOUSLY DISOBEY our Abba Father!!! “The thief comes only TO STEAL AND KILL AND DESTROY. I have come so they can have life. I want them to have it in THE FULLEST POSSIBLE WAY.” (John 10:10)
The “thief” is Satan and he, will try STEAL our desire to store God’s Word in our hearts, he knows that the Word of God is the: “…weapons of our warfare which are not of the flesh but have DIVINE POWER TO DESTROY STRONGHOLDS.” (2 Corin. 10:4) Then he will try to KILL our confidence in God: “Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God YOU MAY RECEIVE WHAT IS PROMISED.” (Heb. 10:35-36)
Ultimately, he will try to DESTROY our chance for eternal life… “For, “In just a little while, He who is coming will come and will not delay… my righteous one WILL LIVE BY FAITH. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” But WE DO NOT BELONG TO THOSE WHO SHRINK BACK AND ARE DESTROYED, but to THOSE WHO HAVE FAITH AND ARE SAVED.” (Heb. 10:37-39)
Every day Satan will try these devices on us, our most powerful weapon against him is “THE WORD OF GOD”, the “SWORD OF THE SPIRIT”! Every day, we must… “…HIDE God’s word in our heart…”
