“The WORKS (ma‛ăśeh: the finished results) of the LORD are GREAT (gâdôwl: distinguished and important), STUDIED (dârash: to be sought to investigate) by all who have pleasure in them.” (Psa. 111:2) IF WE ONLY KNEW that we are serving an amazing, awesome and extremely WONDERFUL GOD!!!
I know I have read this Psalm many times but this morning it really CAUGHT MY ATTENTION,
- The finished works of God, all that He has marvelously created, are so very distinguished and demonstrate God’s ability to do anything without effort. “The heavens DECLARE the glory of God; the skies PROCLAIM the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet THEIR VOICE GOES OUT INTO ALL THE EARTH, their words to the ends of the world.” (Psa. 19:1-4)
- Wise men have sought out and investigated God’s miraculous creation and pleasure is instilled as more and more is revealed. “…we are God’s HANDIWORK, created in Christ Jesus TO DO GOOD WORKS, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Eph. 2:10) “God chose the FOOLISH things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the WEAK things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the LOWLY things of this world and the despised things—It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become FOR US WISDOM FROM GOD—that is, our RIGHTEOUSNESS, HOLINESS and REDEMPTION.” (1 Corin. 1:27-30)
