“…KNOW THIS, that in the last days perilous (dangerous) times will come:” (2 Tim. 3:1) We’ve already seen a steady rise in deaths by suicide over the past two decades and a new report by The Well Being Trust released last month found that 75,000 additional people could die from what they called “deaths of despair,” (which include suicide and substance use) because of Covid-19. CAMDEN, Jesus said: “…men’s hearts failing them from fear…” (Luke 21:26)
Paul goes on to say, “For men will be LOVERS OF THEMSELVES, lovers of money, boasters, proud, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, LOVERS OF PLEASURE RATHER THAN LOVERS OF GOD, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And FROM SUCH PEOPLE TURN AWAY…always learning and NEVER ABLE to come to the knowledge (two words: (ep-ig’-no-sis: epi – marked (obvious), ginosko – an intimate union as between husband and wife.) of the truth.” (2 Tim. 3:2-7) An INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP between us and God-(epignosis). After all we are the “Bride of Christ” “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and HIS BRIDE HAS MADE HERSELF READY.” (Rev. 19:7)
“…this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in SANCTIFICATION AND HONOR, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; For GOD DID NOT CALL US TO UNCLEANNESS, but IN HOLINESS.” (1 Thess. 4:3-7) Paul goes on to teach, “…the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ WILL RISE FIRST. Then we who are ALIVE AND REMAIN SHALL BE CAUGHT UP (harpazō: to snatch away, the Latin is raptu, English rapture) TOGETHER with them in the clouds to MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore COMFORT ONE ANOTHER with these words.” (1 Thess. 4:16-18)
