“O Lord, You will show me the PATH OF LIFE; In Your presence is FULLNESS OF JOY; At Your right hand are PLEASURES FOREVERMORE.” (Psalms 16:11)
- Assure yourself ETHAN, KATIE, that God has a PATH FOR YOUR LIFE. How wonderful to be reminded that not only is He leading us, but He will be with us in every new place. “NEVER will I leave you; NEVER will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Heb. 13:5-6)
- When we’re in His presence, FULLNESS OF JOY IS HIS GIFT . Not necessarily happiness, but joy of knowing God is always there. With God’s joy, there isn’t room for fear or worry. Say with me, “Strength, peace and the confidence that God is with me are some of the benefits of being in His presence.”
- The third promise is PLEASURES FOREVERMORE. What stands out to me is the amazing generosity of God, and He welcomes us to be close to Him, within reach not just for a day but forever. The NIV translation says, “eternal pleasures.” This pleasure is not fleeting but will be with us in this life and the next.
Even with these promises, we could still stumble on the path. The feelings of jealousy, bitterness, resentment or anger will continue to challenge us. Each one of us has the potential to slow down the progress of the journey so we MUST STAY IN STEP WITH GOD!
