The Lord says, “Give ear, O my people…Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.” (Psa. 78:1) Unfortunately WILL, the American Church, is in a very unhealthy condition. There are so many believers, churches, and denominations that are ignoring God’s word “A majority of adults surveyed—58%— believe that moral truth is up to the individual to decide. According to George Barna, this shift shows that most Americans are defining their own life purpose apart from the intent of God.”
A comment on the jacket of an allegedly Christian theology book by an ordained minister. He said that the apostle Paul could never have written some of the things that he wrote if he had had the advantage of some of our modern-day Moral Theology classes! In that deluded minister’s mind, man’s intellect today is superior to God’s inspired word as written by men like the apostle Paul. Incredible! Jeremiah 6:10 says, “To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the LORD IS OFFENSIVE TO THEM; they find no pleasure in it.”
- Scientists routinely reject God’s Creation account and teach evolution to gullible students. Yet the word of God clearly resolves this issue in the very first verse of the Bible — “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Gen. 1:1). There should be no question in anyone’s mind that the Bible teaches a divine Creation. What happens is that man, in his intellectual arrogance, simply “rejects the word of the Lord” and declares that his own intellectual conclusions contradict and discredit the word of God.
“‘How can you say, “We are wise because we have the word of the LORD,” when your teachers have twisted it by writing lies? These wise teachers will fall into the trap of their own foolishness, for they have REJECTED THE WORD OF THE LORD. Are they so wise after all?” (Jer. 8:8-9)
Solomon wisely tells us, “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” (Pro. 16:25) Paul encourages us with this word, “If then you were raised with Christ, SEEK THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE ABOVE, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. SET YOUR MIND ON THINGS ABOVE, not on things on the earth. For you died, and YOUR LIFE IS HIDDEN WITH CHRIST IN GOD.” (Col. 3:1-3)
