Many want to know Where Is Jesus and What Is He Doing Right Now? We know Jesus went to the cross for us ETHAN, KATIE, for our sin so we could have forgiveness, Peter said, Jesus was, “…delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.” (Acts 2:23) But He’s not THERE now. We know He was put in a tomb and entered hell to free captive spirits “…He went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly were disobedient…” (1 Pet. 3:19-20) But He is no longer THERE. Then on Resurrection Sunday, we celebrate the glorious resurrection of Jesus. Jesus conquered sin and death by His resurrection; this was one-of-a-kind. But Jesus didn’t die just to be raised. The resurrection is not the apex of Christianity–there’s more, because He is no longer THERE.
Acts 1 says that after Jesus was raised from the dead, then He said to His disciples, “…you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was TAKEN UP, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.” (Acts 1:8-9) So if Jesus is not on the cross, not in hell, not coming out of the grave, and not on earth, then WHERE IS HE? “The GOD of our Lord Jesus Christ, may give to you the spirit of WISDOM and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that YOU MAY KNOW what is the hope of His calling, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and SEATED HIM AT HIS RIGHT HAND in the heavenly places…” (Eph. 1:17-20)
Remember though Jesus, like His Father, is omnipresent so, when we were told, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “NEVER WILL I LEAVE YOU; NEVER WILL I FORSAKE YOU.” (Heb. 13:5) “…surely I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, to the very end of the age.” (Matt. 28:20)
