“By His divine power, God has given us EVERYTHING WE NEED for living a godly life. And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES. These are the promises that enable you to SHARE His divine nature and ESCAPE the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” (2 Pet. 1:3-4) Because of God’s glory and excellence WILL, He gives us EVERYTHING WE NEED.
For this very reason, make EVERY EFFORT TO ADD to your FAITH goodness; and to GOODNESS, knowledge; and to KNOWLEDGE, self-control; and to SELF-CONTROL, perseverance; and to PERSEVERANCE, godliness; and to GODLINESS, mutual affection; and to MUTUAL AFFECTION, LOVE (agapē: God’s love). For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will KEEP YOU from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Pet. 1:5-9) Doing all this will be futile until we FIRST have a salvation experience with Jesus because the very first thing we add to is FAITH. These are SO POWERFUL AND EFFECTIVE, we are told, “…he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has FORGOTTEN that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even MORE DILIGENT to make your CALL AND ELECTION SURE, for if you do these things YOU WILL NEVER STUMBLE…” (2 Peter 1:5-10)
“For this reason I will not be negligent to REMIND YOU ALWAYS OF THESE THINGS, though you know and are established in the present truth.” (2 Pet. 1:12)
