You might say, “I would like to do something…but I’m not trained or qualified!” When Solomon (King David’s Son) felt unqualified to be King, First, Solomon SHOWED HIS LOVE for the LORD by walking ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS given him by his father David…” (1 Kings 3:3) David said to God, SHOW ME Your ways, O LORD; TEACH ME Your paths. LEAD ME in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.(Psa. 25:4-5)

David loved his son and taught him, The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD  are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living. Reverence for the LORD is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the LORD are true; each one is fair. They are MORE DESIRABLE than gold. They are SWEETER than honey dripping from the comb.(Psa. 19:7-10)

Then, Solomon believed the Word and prayed, “…the LORD said, “Ask! What shall I give you? “Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to David my fatherI am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come inTherefore give to Your servant an UNDERSTANDING HEART to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” The speech pleased the LORD…” (1 Kings 3:5-10)

Now the Lord demonstrates what He can do when we ask: Then God said: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life, nor riches for yourself, nor the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you A WISE AND UNDERSTANDING HEART, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor after you. And I have also given you: both riches and honor, so that there shall NOT BE ANYONE LIKE YOU AMONG THE KINGS ALL YOUR DAYS.(1 Kings 3:11-13)

If we commit ourselves to the Lord and are obedient to His word, nothing God wants to do with us will be impossible…
