“Can papyrus reeds grow tall without a marsh? Can marsh grass flourish without water? While they are still flowering, not ready to be cut, they begin to WITHER MORE QUICKLY than grass. The same happens to ALL WHO FORGET GOD. The hopes of the godless evaporate.” (Job 8:11-13) Cyprus papyrus was a great discovery when it was introduced several years ago. Favored for its height in a large container or in the ground, it really did well along the margins of ponds and in water gardens. If there was a drawback, IT WAS WEAK, 5- to 6-foot tall stems, which BENT AND BROKE IN THE WIND or with handing.
