“I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I WILL CONFESS MY TRANSGRESSIONS TO THE LORD,” AND YOU FORGAVE THE INIQUITY OF MY SIN…” (Psa. 32:5-7)
This sin David is talking about is his adultery with Bathsheba, and murder of her husband Uriah. David prayed this prayer, “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love…blot out my transgressions…cleanse me from my sin…Against you, you only, have I sinned… CREATE IN ME A PURE HEART, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. RESTORE TO ME THE JOY OF YOUR SALVATION…” (Psa. 51:1-5, 10-12) God was pleased with David’s humble spirit, “GOD TESTIFIED concerning him: “I have found David son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY OWN HEART; HE WILL DO EVERYTHING I WANT HIM TO DO…” (Acts 13:22)
