“The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they might HAVE LIFE, and that they might have it MORE ABUNDANTLY. (perissos: this means living a life that is SUPERIOR in quality).” (John 10:10) Paul quoted Isaiah in telling us what God has for us, “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM—” (1 Corin. 2:9) It is not possible to describe what God has instore for us, remember the glorious magnificence all around us was simply spoken into existence in six days.
Sadly JUSTIN, many are not living the abundant life! And how they go about finding the will of God? Well we must “Do our best to present ourselves to God as one approved, a worker who does NOT NEED to be ashamed and WHO CORRECTLY HANDLES THE WORD OF TRUTH.” (2 Timothy 2:15)
We are all called to share the gospel, some by preaching, some teaching, some writing, some singing and any way the Lord directs to. We do it all to, “…Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us…” (Eph. 3:20)
Clearly, abundant life does not consist of an abundance of material things. ABUNDANT LIFE IS ETERNAL LIFE, a life that begins the moment we come to Christ and receive Him as Savior, and goes on throughout all eternity. The biblical definition of life — specifically eternal life — is provided by Jesus Himself: “And this is ETERNAL LIFE, that they may know You Father, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3)
