Most wonderful Lord God Almighty, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my (TOMMY’s) body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me BEFORE I WAS BORN. EVERY DAY of my life was RECORDED IN YOUR BOOK. EVERY MOMENT was LAID OUT before a single day had passed. How precious are YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT ME (TOMMY), O God. They cannot be numbered!” (Psa. 139:13-17)
That is exactly how much the Lord loves EACH ONE OF US individually! Now this purpose God has created us for does not mean that we are predestined to carry out this purpose without any input from us and what we want to do with our lives. Jesus said, “Anyone who WANTS TO DO THE WILL OF GOD will know whether my teaching is from God or is merely my own.” (John 7:17) To further illustrate this Joshua said, “…if you refuse to serve the LORD, then CHOOSE TODAY whom you will serve...” (Joshua 24:15) One more very important example of our choice (our will), “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and OPENS THE DOOR, I will come in to him…” (Rev. 3:20)
Our Abba Father has prepared a perfect plan for each one of us individually, how we respond to that plan is entirely UP TO US! Paul says, “…my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out YOUR OWN salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works IN YOU both TO WILL (the desire) and TO DO (the power) for HIS good pleasure.” (Phil. 2:12-13)
