“As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength…for the glory of the LORD is VERY GREAT.” (Psa. 138:3)
THIS VERSE TELLS US AT LEAST FOUR WONDERFUL FACTS ABOUT GOD AMY:
- GOD IS ALWAYS THERE FOR US: I just need to seek Him. “As soon as I pray”
- GOD’S ANSWERS PRAYERS: “you answer me…” It may not always be how we think He will answer, or how we think He should answer, but God hears our prayers, and He answers our prayers. Thank you, Lord!
- GOD ENCOURAGES US: “You…encourage me.” We all know Proverbs 28:1, which tells us that “the righteous are bold as a lion”. True boldness comes from Christ. “When we see a man meditating on the word of God, that man is full of boldness and is successful.”
- GOD PROVIDES STRENGTH FOR OUR SOUL: “…giving me strength.” God is more than capable of bringing us through anything. It reminded me of one of the other encouraging psalms, with the incredible promise of Psalm 27:14 “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” God will provide the strength we need for whatever we’re facing. Note, it doesn’t say that He’ll remove the problem in front of us, but He will, HE WILL! provide the strength we need to come through it. Praise the Lord!
“Though the LORD is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud. Though I am surrounded by troubles, YOU WILL PROTECT ME from the anger of my enemies. YOU REACH OUT YOUR HAND, and the power of your right hand saves me. The LORD will work out his PLANS FOR MY LIFE—for your FAITHFUL LOVE, O LORD, endures forever.” (Psa. 138:4-8)
