“Let the word of Christ DWELL IN YOU RICHLY (plousiōs: abundantly, plentifully) in all wisdom, TEACHING and ADMONISHING one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, SINGING with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And WHATEVER YOU DO in word or deed, DO ALL IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Col. 3:16-17) Corrie ten Boom did HER BEST TO BE HER BEST she and her family helped Jews escape the Nazi Holocaust during World War II and, by all accounts, saved nearly 800 lives. She said, “You may never know that JESUS is all you need, until JESUS is all you have.”
AIDAN, THAT IS WHY WE MUST,
- TEACH: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, TEACHING THEM to observe ALL THINGS that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” (Matt. 28:19-20) The Lord said, “You shall love the LORD with all your heart, soul, and strength. “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall TEACH THEM diligently to your children, and shall TALK of them when you sit in your house, when you WALK by the way, when you LIE DOWN, and when you RISE UP. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Deut. 6:5-9)
- ADMONISH: noutheteō: to caution or chastise. to advise against doing something; to warn; or to caution against something. “…be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” (Eph. 4:32) “Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual RESTORE SUCH A ONE IN A SPIRIT OF GENTLENESS, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. BEAR ONE ANOTHER’S BURDENS, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (Gal. 6:1-2)
- SING: Music has a soothing and calming power. You can see an example of that; a distressing spirit of the Lord tormented Saul, and it was only when David played the harp that Saul found peace. “And so it was, whenever the spirit from God was upon Saul, that David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and THE DISTRESSING SPIRIT WOULD DEPART FROM HIM.” (1 Sam. 16:23)
We can be used of God to minister in these ways and bring peace…
