Phobias are irrational fears that relate to specific situations. Atychiphobia, means having an IRRATIONAL AND PERSISTENT fear of failing. The devil provides this as part of his plan to disable us, as Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, kill, and destroy. (John 10:10a) You see, the devil tries to steal our confidence in succeeding, kill our trust in the Lord and destroy our relationship with God. Here is the awesome and wonderful promise Jesus gives us, “…I have come that they MAY HAVE LIFE, (zōē”: the absolute fulness of life) which belongs to God and that they may have it more ABUNDANTLY. (perissos: over and above, superior, extraordinary.)” (John 10:10b)
The Greek bible uses three words for life,
- bios: life of the physical body, biology comes from this word.
- psuchē: the psychological life of the human soul, psychology comes from this word:
- zōē: eternal life of God, when we are “Born Again”
Sorry for all this explanation, but you are child of God and I figure you can easily understand this…
When we face challenges in life, they can either paralyze us with fear, or motivate us to SEEK GOD and see Him MIRACULOUSLY WORK IN OUR LIVES. “Call to Me, and I WILL ANSWER YOU, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)
King David was arguably one of the greatest men of God to ever walk this earth. What we can easily forget is how many challenges King David faced before becoming King, and during his reign as king.
- Saul, the king prior to David, envied David, and tried to kill him numerous times (1 Samuel 19:10-11).
- David faced war with other countries over and over again, such as with the Philistines (2 Samuel 21:15).
- His own son Abasolom tried to overthrow him, and become king in his place. This son was eventually killed by another soldier. (2 Samuel 13-18).
- Some of his own people, the Israelites, did not want David to be king, so they tried to overthrow him. (2 Samuel 2:20).
One thing King David did over and over again when challenges arose, was seek God in prayer. Whenever a challenge arose, David would ask God what he should do – and when God gave him an answer, he listened and followed what the Lord said to do.
“And David inquired of the Lord…” (2 Samuel 5:19) “And David had success in all his undertakings, for the LORD WAS WITH HIM. (just as He will be with you…)” (1 Samuel 18:14)
