AMY, PRAY “TEACH ME HOW TO LOVE YOU…”

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that HIS FACE WAS RADIANT (glowing) because he had spoken with the LORD. (Exodus 34:29) This was the second time Moses went up the mountain (on a 40 day fast) and met with God. The first time Moses did not really know who God was. He had his first encounter with God by the burning bush and when God told Moses the mission he had for him, Moses said no. After much refusing and turning God down about rescuing the people of God, he gave in but did not really know who God was. Remember Moses was brought up in Pharaohs palace for 40 years, by a very evil, ungodly man. So Moses did not really have any training about God.

Moses said to God on his second trip to the mountain, If you are pleased with me, TEACH ME your ways so I may KNOW YOU and continue to find favor with you.(Exodus 33:13) Moses had been in God’s presence and his face shone. It is hard to imagine luminescent skin but the Hebrew word has the idea of sending out luminous rays. Now Moses asks the Lord to show Himself to Moses so he could KNOW HIM, And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.” So Moses made haste and BOWED HIS HEAD toward the earth, AND WORSHIPED.(Exodus 34:6-8) This was the first time Moses ever worshiped God AMY

This was the revelation Moses needed to do what God called him to do because NOW he knew WHO GOD REALLY WAS! Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His nameLet the hearts of those rejoice who SEEK THE LORD! SEEK THE LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!(Psalms 105:1-4) Seeking involves calling and pleading. “O Lord, open my eyes. O Lord, pull back the curtain of my own blindness. Lord, have mercy and reveal yourself. I long to see your face.”

LETS BOW OUR HEADS AND WORSHIP THE LORD
