What is God doing with my life? Does He have a purpose for me? Lord, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me BEFORE I was born. EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE WAS RECORDED IN YOUR BOOK. EVERY MOMENT WAS LAID OUT before a single day had passed.” (Psa. 139:13-16) The Lord has a perfect plan for each one of our lives.
God had a perfect plan for Joseph’s life, but he was not very wise in his sharing of what God revealed to him (Genesis 37). He made his 11 brothers angry and some of them planned to kill him but instead sold him into slavery. For 13 years Joseph went through many difficult trials but because of his integrity, he, at age 30 was appointed by Pharaoh to be second in charge of Egypt.
Then there is Jonah, God planned for him to go to Nineveh and spare the lives of 120,000 people there. Jonah refused to go and tried to run away but ended up in the belly of a great fish who carried him to where God wanted him. (Jonah 1:17) And Jonah preached and the whole evil nation fasted, prayed, repented and was spared!
This is the lesson God gave to Jeremiah, “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to HEAR My words.” Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred (shâchath: be ruined or rotted) in the hand of the potter; so HE MADE IT AGAIN into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.” (Jer. 18:2-4)
IF WE RESIST GOD’S PLAN FOR OUR LIFE HE CAN JUST MAKE ANOTHER ONE FOR US…
