CONSIDER WHAT YOU THINK…

For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, NOT TO THINK OF HIMSELF MORE HIGHLY THAN HE OUGHT TO THINK, but to think 1soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. (Rom. 12:3) 1sōphroneō: to exercise self-control, to put a moderate estimate upon one’ s self. A person who has self-control exercises humility and treats everyone fairly and equally. When we live in humility we are making progress in becoming Christ like.

Be sober, be 2vigilant; because your adversary THE DEVIL WALKS ABOUT LIKE A ROARING LION, SEEKING WHOM HE MAY 3DEVOUR. (1 Pet. 5:8) 2grégoreó: keeping careful watch for possible danger. 3katesthió: eat up, annoy, to strip one of his goods. Peter is warning us to exercise self-control  and carefully watch out for the devil who is trying to strip us of our Christianity and act pridefully. all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “GOD 4RESISTS THE PROUD, but gives grace to the humble.” (1 Pet. 5:5) 4antitassomai: to go in battle against, to oppose. Remember, God goes to battle against and opposes the proud.

WE MUST HUMBLE OURSELVES BEFORE GOD…
