THE THIEF OF ETERNAL LIFE …

“…A synagogue leader, Jairus, pleaded earnestly with Jesus, “My little daughter is dying. Please come so that she will be healedsome people came from the house of Jairus“Your daughter is dead,” they saidJesus told him, DON’T BE AFRAID; JUST BELIEVE.” Jesus saw people crying and wailing loudly. He said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? THE CHILD IS NOT DEAD BUT ASLEEPTHEY LAUGHED AT HIM…He put them all out, He took the child’s fathermotherHe took the child her by the hand and said“Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, GET UP!). IMMEDIATELY THE GIRL STOOD UP AND BEGAN TO WALK AROUNDthey were COMPLETELY ASTONISHED. (Mark 5:22-23, 35-43)

This illustrates to us the statement Jesus made about Satan: The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that THEY MAY HAVE LIFE AND HAVE IT ABUNDANTLY (superior in quality).(John 10:10) Why does Jesus refer to Satan as a thief? The reason is, when Jesus created man (Col. I:15,16), He created him to have eternal life. One commandment was given to man “…of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it YOU SHALL SURELY DIE. (Gen. 2:17) When Satan tempted Eve and she and Adam disobeyed God’s commandment Satan STOLD their eternal life and DEATH BEGAN TO REIGN. So, “…through His death, Jesus might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil…” (Heb. 2:14)

THANK YOU PRINCE OF PEACE FOR BRINGING US ABUNDANT LIFE
