Some Pharisees came to Jesus, tempting Him, saying, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? “Jesus answered, Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning “made them MALE and FEMALE“, and said, For this cause a man shall leave father and mother and shall cling to his wife, and the TWO of them shall be ONE flesh? Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore WHAT GOD HAS JOINED TOGETHER, LET NOT MAN SEPARATE.” (Matt. 19:4-6) He did not say “who” God joined together but “what” God joined together. These two are now a new “ENTITY” because God has joined them together.
Adam could have said this at the creation of Eve. “You are different than me; but you were made FOR ME and FROM ME. We are not the same, but WE ARE ONE.”
IN GENESIS, ADAM UNDERSTANDS THAT MEN AND WOMEN ARE DIFFERENT.
- DIFFERENT SOURCES OF CREATION: man from the dust of the ground, woman from Adams rib
- DIFFERENT METHODS OF CREATION: God formed (yâtsar: fashioned, shaped) Adam from dust and breathed the breath into him, God shaped Eve from Adams rib
- DIFFERENT TIMES OF CREATION: Adam, 6th day, Eve last one created.
- DIFFERENT NAMES AT CREATION: Adam, “man” Eve, “woman”
That is God’s doing, this is man’s doing: An individual just recently became first legally non- gender person in the US. “After a historic ruling, I have won the right to define my gender exactly as I choose – and I won’t be the last”
