The events in the Book of Job are believed to have taken place before the time of Moses, possibly during the era of the Bible’s Patriarchs. Additionally, the Book of Job is written differently from all the other books in the Bible and it also makes no reference to any other books or events in the Bible. This suggests that the events of Job took place long before those in the rest of the Bible.
Job says, “…there is a SPIRIT in man, And the BREATH of the Almighty gives him UNDERSTANDING.” (Job 32:8) This is what connects us to God because, “GOD IS SPIRIT, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24) Job also says, “The Spirit of God has made me, And the BREATH of the Almighty gives me LIFE.” (Job 33:4)
That is why this scripture makes sense, “All Scripture is GOD–BREATHED and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17) Because the Spirit of God gives us LIFE and UNDERSTANDING we can read His word, which God BREATHS into us, to thoroughly (we are equipped through in and throughout) equip us for taking the gospel into all the world.
