Who are we and why are we here? “LORD, what are human beings that YOU CARE FOR THEM, mere mortals that YOU THINK OF THEM?” (Psa. 144:3) God gave humans royal “glory and honor” and power to rule. Genesis 1:26-28, says THAT HUMANS WILL RULE OVER THE REST OF CREATION BECAUSE GOD CREATED HUMAN BEINGS, MAKING THEM TO BE LIKE HIMSELF! “So God created mankind IN HIS OWN IMAGE, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. RULE OVER…EVERY LIVING CREATURE that moves on the ground.” (Gen. 1:27-28) God is holy, just, wise, good, and perfect; the soul that He created was intended to be AS HE WAS: there could be nothing impure, unjust, ignorant, evil, low, base, mean, or vile in man’s soul. Man was created after the image of God; and that image, according to Paul, consisted in righteousness, true holiness, and knowledge. “You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and TO PUT ON THE NEW SELF, created to be LIKE GOD in true righteousness and holiness.” (Eph. 4:22-24) It is the desire of our Abba Father for us to be just like Him! “…you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE IN THE IMAGE OF ITS CREATOR.” (Col. 3:9-10)
