“…if our gospel is hidden, IT IS HIDDEN TO THOSE WHO ARE LOST, Satan, who is the god of this world, has BLINDED THE MINDS of those who don’t believe…” (2 Corin. 4:3-7) The bible reveals to us that God is not the author of confusion, (akatastasia: instability, a state of disorder.) Satan has the ability to blind our minds or confuse us, from the truth, to keep us in darkness, if we are non-believers.
“…it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF GOD in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corin. 4:3-7) When our eyes are opened from the darkness, the light of God’s knowledge (gnōsis: a deeper more perfect and enlarged knowledge), floods us with a treasure trove of godly knowledge!
“…we have THIS TREASURE IN EARTHEN VESSELS, that the excellence of the power may be OF GOD and NOT OF US.” (2 Corin. 4:3-7) One of the very important things we realize, as God’s earthen vessels, is that this godly knowledge is very powerful and will keep our eyes opened and enlightened to God so we are not deceived.
