“He who 1overcomes SHALL INHERIT ALL THINGS, and I will BE HIS GOD and he shall BE MY SON.” (Rev. 21:7) 1nikaō: holding fast our faith over temptations and persecutions. The cross that Jesus was crucified on is where He overcame sin, death, Satan and the world, which has been engaged in fierce warfare against all that is of God… This battle of the ages has been raging since man first sinned in the garden of Eden – a conflict which has blinded the minds of many to the truth of the glorious gospel of God.
When Jesus cried out in triumph, “It is finished!” (John 19:30) The victory over sin and Satan was completed! Christ won this battle on the cross so, this victory is granted to every child of God, at the moment of salvation… for we are told by the apostle John, “For whoever is born of God OVERCOMES THE WORLD. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—OUR FAITH. Who is he who overcomes the world, but HE WHO BELIEVES that Jesus is the SON OF GOD?” (1 John 5:4-5)
Christ’s victory on the cross has become our victory and this is the finished and eternal state OF ALL who are part of the Body of Christ, for we are united together in Him by faith. We need to be “…renewed in the spirit of our mind, and that we put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness…till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ…” (Eph. 4:23-24, 13)
