These “GUYS” were the wise men, also known as magi, were men belonging to various educated classes. Our English word magician comes from this same root. But these wise men were of noble birth, educated, wealthy, and influential . They were gentile philosophers, the counselors of rulers, learned in all the wisdom of the ancient East. Today we’d called them astrologers. The wise men who came SEEKING THE CHRIST CHILD WERE NOT IDOLATERS; THEY WERE UPRIGHT MEN OF INTEGRITY. They had apparently studied the Hebrew Scriptures and found there a clear transcript of truth. The Messianic prophecies of the Old Testament must have claimed their attention, and among these they found the words of Balaam: “…there shall come A STAR OUT OF JACOB and A SCEPTER SHALL RISE OUT OF ISRAEL.” (Num. 24:17) Then Micah said: “But you, Bethlehem Ephrata, though you be little among the thousands of Judah, yet OUT OF YOU SHALL HE COME TO ME THAT IS TO BE RULER IN ISRAEL.” (Micah 5:2) Then the wise men said: “And you Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, are not the least among the princes of Juda: for OUT OF YOU SHALL COME A GOVERNOR, that shall rule my people Israel.” (Matt. 2:6). They probably also knew and understood the time prophecy of Daniel regarding the appearance of the Messiah, “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city…to anoint the most holy place. “So, you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again…” (Dan. 9:24-25) and concluded that HIS COMING WAS NEAR. On the night of Christ’s birth, a mysterious light appeared in the sky which became a luminous star that persisted in the western heavens and the wise men said: “Where is He that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen His star in the east, and ARE COME TO WORSHIP HIM.” (Matt. 2:2).  The wise men turned once more to the sacred scrolls. As they tried to understand the meaning of the sacred writings, they determined to go in search of the Messiah. Like Abraham, they knew not at first where they were to go, BUT FOLLOWED AS THE GUIDING STAR LED THEM ON THEIR WAY. “And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.” (Isa. 60:3) [Thank the Lord for leading these wise men TO REVEAL AND WORSHIP HIM who IS the LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS! LET’S BE WISE AND follow their lead!

IT IS OUR TIME TO COME AND WORSHIP THE LORD OF LORDS AND THE KING OF KINGS
