It is quite natural to want to express our joy and thankfulness about the fact that God the Son became man, in Jesus Christ, but we have to ask the question; in which way Jesus wants us to do this. In the Bible we find instructions on how we should serve and worship Him, “…now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? YOU OBSERVE DAYS AND MONTHS AND SEASONS AND YEARS. I am afraid for you, lest I have labored for you in vain.” (Gal. 4:9-11)
Today, we are so busy buying gifts, about 5% than last year, our overall holiday spending will be about $30billion dollars. We get so involved in all this, that we forget about WHO WE ARE WORSHIPING!
“So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival…which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is OF CHRIST.” (Col. 2:16-17) Our love for Jesus is expressed through our DAILY RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM, earnestly seeking to know and practice His will in our own lives.
And He said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and FOLLOW ME. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?” (Luke 9:23–25)
