“I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens (endunamoō) me.” (Phil. 4:13) endunamoō: to empower (to give power or authority, to authorize), to stimulate. Let’s see just how the Lord can help us AMY. “…the Angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!” (Jud. 6:12) Gideon said “If the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us?” The Midianites and Amalekites and the people of the East would come up and destroy their crops AMY. Then Gideon wanted to know where are all God’s miracles, which our fathers told us about, now it seems the LORD has forsaken us.
“…the LORD said to Gideon, “…tear down the altar of Baal that your father has…and build an altar to the LORD your God” (Judges 6:25-26) All the people came and wanted to kill Gideon but his father rallied all the people to help Gedeon destroy the enemy. To many people came AMY, but God WHITTLED THEM DOWN TO 300 men,“…he put a trumpet into every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers.” (Judges 7:16) The 300 slipped in to the enemy’s camp broke their pitchers and cried out “the sword of the Lord of Gideon” and the enemy, in confusion, attacked and defeated one another.
