“My dear children, I am writing this to you so that YOU WILL NOT SIN. But if ANYONE DOES SIN, we have one who speaks to the Father for us. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He gave His life TO PAY FOR OUR SINS—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. We know that we have come to know God if we OBEY HIS COMMANDS.” (1 John 2:1-3) We are being instructed by the apostle John to not sin! Because we, “…have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer us who live, but Christ LIVES IN US; and the life which we now live in the flesh we live BY FAITH in the Son of God, who loves us and GAVE HIMSELF for us.” (Gal. 2:20) Jesus now lives in us, He does this because He gave Himself for us. So what do we do to Christ when we CHOOSE TO SIN? “To our loss we are crucifying the Son of God ALL OVER AGAIN and subjecting Him to PUBLIC DISGRACE.” (Heb. 6:6)
We must know that the devil goes after our weakness. Demons and devils are filled with evil and very smart. So, they watch us, they study us, they don’t eat, they don’t sleep, they don’t take a break, they learn by eager and relentless observation of what our WEAKNESSES are. So, if we sin, ASK FOR FORGIVENESS, and remember this very important fact, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER and of LOVE and of a SOUND MIND.” (2 Tim. 1:7) That is a verse we want to OFTEN speak out loud!!! It is a very important fact that we must BELIEVE!!!
We must, “…submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. DRAW NEAR TO GOD and He will DRAW NEAR TO YOU.” (Jam. 4:7-8)
