“Mary Magdalene went to the tomb of Jesus early, and saw that the stone had been taken away…then she ran to Simon Peter, and John…they have taken away the Lord out of the tomb…(Peter and John ran to the tomb, looked in, no one was there)…as yet THEY DID NOT KNOW THE SCRIPTURE, that He must rise again from the dead.” (John 20:1-2, 9)
HOW COULD THIS BE WILL? JESUS DID INDEED SPEAK OF HIS DEATH AND RESURRECTION:
- “…Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem…suffer many things…and BE KILLED, and BE RAISED the third day.” (Matt. 16:21)
- “Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, and they will KILL HIM, and the third day He will BE RAISED UP.” And they were EXCEEDINGLY SORROWFUL.” (Matt. 17:22-23)
- Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road and said to them, “Behold…the Son of Man will be betrayed…they will condemn Him…deliver Him to the Gentiles…TO CRUCIFY. And the third day He will RISE AGAIN.” (Matt. 20:17-19)
- Jesus said to His disciples, “You know that after two days is the Passover, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to BE CRUCIFIED.“ (Matt. 26:1-2)
Why did they not remember this? We are JUST LIKE THEM!!! The bible clearly says “fear not” and this is the most REPEATED COMMAND in the Bible. In fact there are 365 “Fear nots” in the Bible. Yet 25.1% of children between 13 and 18 years old suffer with some kind of fear anxiety. Even though the Bible very clearly says,
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will FEAR NO EVIL; For YOU ARE (always) WITH ME; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (Psa. 23:4)
