“For the WEAPONS of our warfare are not carnal but MIGHTY IN GOD for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and EVERY HIGH THING THAT EXALTS ITSELF AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, BRINGING EVERY THOUGHT INTO CAPTIVITY to the OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST…” (2 Corin. 10:4-5)
Just who in world would exalt themselves against the knowledge of God??? “How you are FALLEN from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN, I WILL EXALT MY THRONE ABOVE the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ASCEND ABOVE the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’” (Isa. 14:12-14) Ezekiel revealed this about Satan, “Your heart was FILLED WITH PRIDE because of all your beauty.” (Ezekiel 28:17)
So, when Satan appeared to Eve and tempted her with such a well crafted lie, “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and YOU WILL BE LIKE GOD, knowing both good and evil.” (Gen. 3:5) KNOW THIS, No one could ever come remotely close to being like God. “I am God, and THERE IS NO OTHER; I am God, and there is NONE LIKE ME, declaring the end from the beginning…” (Isaiah 46:9) Satan in his evil cunning, persuaded Eve then Adam to disobey God and turn to Satan, who then became, “…the god of this world” (and he has) blinded the minds of the unbelieving ones, so that they cannot see the LIGHT of the gospel…” (2 Corin. 4:4)
But thanks be to our Lord Jesus Christ who has declared this to His followers, “You are the salt of the earth. You are the LIGHT OF THE WORLD…let your light SHINE before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matt. 5:13-14, 16)
