“I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I WILL TRUST.” (Psa. 91:2) I like the way Solomon states it, “TRUST IN THE LORD with ALL your heart; do not depend on your own understanding” (Prov. 3:5)
By the way, this is not a suggestion! We are instructed to trust in God because He is omniscient! You see, God knows everything about everything there is to know anything about. God does not have to learn anything and He has not forgotten about anything. The omniscience of God means that He has perfect knowledge, perfect understanding, and perfect wisdom as to how to apply the knowledge.
That is why it is IN GOD WE TRUST with ALL our heart!!! And we were wise enough to put it on something we always have with us. A law passed in a Joint Resolution by the 84th Congress and approved by President Dwight Eisenhower on July 30, 1956, requires that “In God We Trust” appear on American currency. This meant that the mint could make no changes without the enactment of additional legislation by the Congress.
Many people began TURNING BACK TOWARDS GOD during the Civil War, giving rise to a call to place the Motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” on United States coins. Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase received many appeals from devout persons throughout the country, urging that the United States to officially give RECOGNITION TO GOD on United States coins.
A federal appeals court on Tuesday (AUG. 28, 2018) said printing “In God We Trust” on U.S. currency is constitutional, citing its longstanding use and saying it was not coercive (intimidating). The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Paul, Minnesota rejected claims by 29 atheists, children of atheists and atheist groups that inscribing the national motto on bills and coins violated their First Amendment free speech and religious rights.
I thank the Lord that it is not illegal to put our TRUST IN GOD!!! “How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!” (Psa. 147:5)
