“The RIGHT WORD at the RIGHT TIME is like golden apples in silver jewelry.” (Pro. 25:11) Within the words we speak is an emotional effectiveness. Each word that we use can have a huge impact. Never think of words as inconsequential. Instead, think of them as powerful. Words can BUILD UP OR TEAR DOWN. They can motivate or discourage. “Do not let any unwholesome (unpleasant) talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for BUILDING OTHERS UP according to their needs, that it may BENEFIT those who listen.” (Eph. 4:29) We must be careful what we say because the wrong word spoken at the wrong time could cause years of damage?
As Benjamin Franklin said, “Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.” “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” (Prov. 18:21) But, “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.” (Prov. 16:24)
“…we do not have a High Priest (Jesus) who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet WITHOUT SIN. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and FIND GRACE TO HELP (us say the right thing…) in time of need.” (Heb. 4:15-16)
THE LORD WILL HELP US TO SAY JUST THE RIGHT WORDS AT THE RIGHT TIME…
