AMY, many people spend so much of their life concerned with how they look on the outside. Think about how much time we spend getting ready in the morning or how concerned we are with what we look like and wear. Yet, God cares more about the inside than He does about the outside. God wants us to have a godly heart because He knows that who we are on the inside is way more important than the outside. Therefore, we should commit our heart to the Lord? Learn to trust Him and to hear His voice in prayer. We should try to spend time growing our character, so that we can become all God desires?
“Dear brothers and sisters, don’t be childish in your understanding of spiritual things. Be innocent as babies when it comes to evil, but be mature in understanding in spiritual matters.” (1 Corin. 14:20) What has God given us to help us mature? “He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the EQUIPPING OF THE SAINTS for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the UNITY OF THE FAITH and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should NO LONGER BE CHILDREN, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may GROW UP IN ALL THINGS INTO HIM who is the head—Christ…” (Eph. 4:11-15)
God’s ultimate plan for us AMY, is that we be “conformed to the image of his Son.” “…we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to HIS PURPOSE. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be 1CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF HIS SON, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” (Romans 8:28-29) 1summorpho: having the same “form” as Jesus. “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM, for we shall see Him as He is.” (1 John 3:1-2)
