The LORD is speaking, “Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd, And he shall perform all My pleasure, Saying to Jerusalem, “You shall be built,” And to the temple, “Your foundation shall be laid.” (Isa. 44:28) Isaiah delivered this prophecy 210 YEARS before Cyrus reigned. “Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms of the earth the LORD God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me TO BUILD HIM A HOUSE AT JERUSALEM which is in Judah. Who is among you of all His people? May his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah, and BUILD THE HOUSE OF THE LORD God of Israel (He is God), which is in Jerusalem.” (Ezra 1:2-3)
This is just one of hundreds of prophecies that has or will, come to pass just as the Lord said. So, when we see something in the Word of God, that God has spoken, we know that it will come to pass. Why? Because “…it is IMPOSSIBLE for God to lie…” (Heb. 6:18)
Does the God of the Bible always tell the truth? The answer is an unqualified YES. God is true in all that He does. He is consistent with Himself. Everything that He has revealed about Himself matches up with reality. “…the Jews were entrusted with the whole revelation of God. True, some of them were unfaithful; but just because they were unfaithful, DOES THAT MEAN GOD WILL BE UNFAITHFUL? OF COURSE NOT! Even if everyone else is a liar, GOD IS TRUE. As the Scriptures say about Him, “You will be proved right in what you say, and prevail (triumph) when you judge.” (Rom. 3:2-4)
“Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the TRUTH THAT LEADS TO GODLINESS— in the hope of eternal life, which God, WHO DOES NOT LIE, promised before the beginning of time…” (Titus 1:1-2) Since all Scripture is God-breathed, we should not expect to find ANY ERRORS in its revelation to us. “ALL SCRIPTURE is given by INSPIRATION OF GOD (it is God Breathed), and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may BE COMPLETE, THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
