LOVING AND OBEYING GOD…

All of the People agreed with David to bring back the arc of the Covenant,  “So David gathered all Israel together, to bring the ark of God…they carried the ark of God on a new cart (just like the Philistines)…David and all Israel played music with all their might…when they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled. Then the anger of the LORD was aroused against Uzza, and He struck him because he put his hand to the ark; and HE DIED there before God.” (1 Chron. 13:4-10)

This arc was very holy for it symbolized THE VERY PRESENCE OF GOD and God had very specific instructions on how it should be carried and who should carry it. David left the arc at the home of Obed-Edom the Gittite. God blessed Obed-Edom and his family. Jesus said, “If you love Me, 1KEEP My commandments.(John 14:15) 1téreó: to observe. Obey, DO, AND PRACTICE my commandments.

So, David went back home and SEARCHED THE SCRIPTURES which is  what he should done in the first place,  “David and the elders of Israel and commanders went to bring the arc of the covenant from the house of Obed-Edom, God helped the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant.” (1 Chron. 15:25)

David’s house and camp was GREATLY BLESSED because of the presence of the Lord. Then David spoke to the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers accompanied by instruments of music, stringed instruments, harps, and cymbals, by RAISING THE VOICE WITH RESOUNDING JOY. (1 Chron. 15:16)

So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God. And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, HE BLESSED THE PEOPLE IN THE NAME OF THE LORD. Then he distributed to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a LOAF OF BREAD, a PIECE OF MEAT, and a CAKE OF RAISINS.(1 Chron. 16:1-3) David worshiped the Lord and  said, Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for HE IS GOOD! For His mercy ENDURES FOREVER.(1 Chron. 16:34)
