“BE DRESSED READY for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their MASTER TO RETURN from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them WATCHING WHEN HE COMES.” (Luke 12:35-37)
There are many living like the Lord’s promise of His return is a long way off but remember, “The Lord is NOT SLOW in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, NOT WANTING ANYONE TO PERISH, but everyone to COME TO REPENTANCE.” (2 Pet. 3:9) The highest relative jump in death rates from 2010 to 2017 — 29 percent — has been among people age 25 to 34. We do not know when we are going to leave this world but we know that the Lord said for us to “Be dressed and ready…”
“So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found SPOTLESS, BLAMELESS and AT PEACE with Him. Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be ON YOUR GUARD so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. But GROW in the GRACE and KNOWLEDGE of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” (2 Pet. 3:14-18)
So, let’s be dressed and ready to go, making sure we are SPOTLESS, BLAMELESS and AT PEACE with our Abba Father.
