LET’S FACE IT—we are better IN EVERY WAY AMY, when we walk HAND IN HAND WITH THE LORD. We are a better person after we’ve spent some time with Jesus. We’ll like who we are after we’ve been with Him. Our mind, our heart, and our attitude are gentler, more loving, and kinder after we’ve been with Him. So let’s take some time with Jesus today. Read Scripture and take time to pray. We’ll all be very glad we did. “Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for HE IS GOOD! For His mercy endures forever. I called on the LORD in distress; The LORD answered me and SET ME IN A SPACIOUS PLACE. The LORD is ON MY SIDE; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Psa. 118:1-6)
LET’S FACE IT —AMY, with all the hard and scary stuff going on around us, we may find ourselves WAKING UP ANXIOUS AND DISCOURAGED and going to bed the same way. As bad as that is, it also puts us at risk of damaging our witness for Christ in our day-to-day dealings with others. That’s because, as humans, we often allow OUR FEELINGS TO DICTATE MANY OF OUR ACTIONS. This capability, unique to humans, gives us the option to be CONTROLLED by feelings or be DOMINANT OVER THEM. “For this very reason, MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ADD to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities IN INCREASING MEASURE, they will keep you from being INEFFECTIVE AND UNPRODUCTIVE in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Pet. 1:5-8)
LET’S FACE IT—when we purposefully surround ourselves with GOD’S WORD throughout our day, EVERY DAY, things go a little smoother, and a few other things happen as well. His word: RENEWS, REMINDS, REGENERATES. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you PRESENT YOUR BODIES a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and PERFECT WILL OF GOD.” (Rom. 12:1-2) Knowing that God is merciful, we will gladly offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy, and pleasing to Him.
