“…one of His disciples said to Jesus, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. YOUR KINGDOM COME. YOUR WILL BE DONE IN earth as it is in heaven. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.'” (Luke 11:1-4) This was originally “in earth” AMY, as “in us as EARTHEN VESSELS” because we turned this world we live in, over to Satan when we rebelled against God and were removed from the Garden of Eden. “…if our gospel is hidden, it is hidden to those who are lost. The god OF THIS WORLD (Satan) has BLINDED THE MINDS OF UNBELIEVERS, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Corin. 4:3-4) “The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, THE RULER OF THIS WORLD, will be cast out.” (John 12:31)
So, it is a good thing AMY, that WE ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD, Jesus prayed for His followers saying, “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. THEY ARE NOT OF THE WORLD, even as I am not of it.” (John 17:15-16) That is why we are told, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves (agapaō) the world, THE LOVE OF THE FATHER IS NOT IN HIM. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is NOT FROM THE FATHER BUT IS FROM THE WORLD. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” (1 John 2:15-17)
To further illustrate this point AMY, we are told, “…do not be CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Rom. 12:2) We do not want to be formed like the world because this is Satan’s world, we want our FORM TO BE CHANGED (transformed) so we are Christ like and our minds are renewed. “Therefore God exalted JESUS TO THE HIGHEST PLACE and gave Him the name that is ABOVE EVERY NAME, that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and EVERY TONGUE SHOULD CONFESS that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil. 2:9-11)
