“You (Abba Father) WILL KEEP HIM in perfect peace WHOSE MIND IS STAYED (settled) on you, because he trusts in you.” (Isa. 26:3) “Stayed” from the word samak; to lean, lay, rest, support. “Finally, brothers and sisters…encourage one another, be of one mind, LIVE IN PEACE. And the God of love and peace WILL BE WITH YOU.” (2 Corin. 13:11) In 1889, Warren D. Cornell wrote his thoughts down, they later proved to be parts of a hymn, “Wonderful Peace”. George Cooper discovered the paper Warren had written on, he was fascinated by the theme then sitting down at the organ he composed this melody!
“Peace, peace, wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above!
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray
In fathomless billows of love!”
“I have told you these things, so that IN ME YOU MAY HAVE PEACE. In this world you will have TROUBLE. But take heart! I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.” (John 16:33) Oh, how we must trust in our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ! “WHO SHALL SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF CHRIST? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” NO, IN ALL THESE THINGS WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS THROUGH HIM WHO LOVED US.” (Rom. 8:35-37)
