We often sing choruses about our God being greater and stronger, but truthfully – God is WITHOUT COMPARISON. It’s not like we’re on a scale with mankind at one end and God at the other. He’s not even ON THE SCALE. GOD IS MEASURELESS. He is boundless and outside of any limit whatsoever. So, it’s not just that God is greater. He is great BEYOND ANYTHING our mind could imagine. “…there is NONE LIKE YOU, O LORD (You are great, and Your name is great in might), Who would not fear You, For this is Your rightful due. For among all the wise men of the nations, And in all their kingdoms, THERE IS NONE LIKE YOU.” (Jer. 10:6-7) Is there anyone at all that is like our God? “WHO IS LIKE YOU, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, GLORIOUS in holiness, FEARFUL in praises, DOING 1WONDERS?” 1pele’: a marvellous thing. (Exo. 15:11)
Hanna was praying for a son, she prayed, “No one is HOLY LIKE THE LORD, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God…the LORD IS THE GOD OF KNOWLEDGE; And by Him actions are weighed.” (1 Sam. 2:2-3) Did God honor Hannah’s prayer? “So it came to pass that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and CALLED HIS NAME SAMUEL, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the LORD.” (1 Sam. 1:20) The Psalmist said, “In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, For YOU WILL ANSWER ME. Among the gods THERE IS NONE LIKE YOU, O LORD; Nor are there any works LIKE YOUR WORKS.” (Psa. 86:7-8) One final thought on the Lord being BEYOND ANYTHING our mind could imagine, “Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and THERE IS NO OTHER; I am God, and THERE IS NONE LIKE ME, DECLARING THE END FROM THE BEGINNING, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘MY COUNSEL SHALL STAND, AND I WILL DO ALL MY PLEASURE…Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I WILL ALSO DO IT.” (Isa. 46:9-11)
