03-31-20 Loved One’s Devotion A PROBLEM TOO BIG FOR US TO SOLVE…

My awesome, Grandchildren, and Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin; whom I love and pray for every day: When adversity comes, we are forced to face problems and pressures that are TOO BIG FOR US TO SOLVE. In this way, GOD GETS OUR ATTENTION. We can’t continue to pursue our goals, tasks, and relationships in the same manner. We have to STOP AND EVALUATE our situation, ASK GOD for wisdom, OBEY His Word, and TRUST HIM to ORDER OUR STEPS. Troubles point out our weaknesses and prompt us to RELY ON GOD in ways that we wouldn’t unless we had significant needs. Christ’s invitation to us who are weary becomes very attractive in the midst of trials: COME TO ME, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and LEARN FROM ME, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matt. 11:28-30)

As of March 24, there were over 400,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 around the world and over 17,000 fatalities. Both the US and Western Europe are facing severe outbreaks. The US now has more than 52,000 confirmed cases, behind only China (with over 81,000 cases) and Italy (with over 69,000). Why is this happening? Adversity reminds us that God is present and we are ACCOUNTABLE TO HIM for our every THOUGHT, WORD, and ACTION. God’s Word reveals that THE FEAR OF THE LORD is the key to life, wisdom, and lasting achievement. The observance of the Lord’s Supper is a time when God calls us to self-examination. “…whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But LET A MAN EXAMINE HIMSELF, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks IN AN UNWORTHY MANNER EATS AND DRINKS JUDGMENT TO HIMSELF, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are WEAK AND SICK AMONG YOU…” (1 Corin. 11:27-30)

The sin of pride is the source of many difficulties, “…God gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God 1OPPOSES the proud but SHOWS FAVOR TO THE HUMBLE.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and HE WILL COME NEAR TO YOU. WASH YOUR HANDS, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.(James 4:6-8) 1antitassomai: to resist, to range in battle against. Our pride causes us to be AT WAR with God, a war we can, IN NO WAY, WIN.

Notice: [We must understand that the bible says:] “God OPPOSES the proud but SHOWS FAVOR TO THE HUMBLE.” !!!That’s for you: Stephanie, Ethan, Camden, Olivia, Aidan, Landon, Kinsley, Annika, Kaleigh, Kate, Gavin…
