“Set your minds on THINGS ABOVE, not on EARTHLY THINGS.” (Col. 3:2) Amy, we must be ever so careful about we allow in our minds. It’s up to us to set our minds on things above, that’s some thing we have to take control of because we don’t live above. Now on occasion we are greatly blessed and have a real Holy Spirit encounter and “get lost” in the Spirit, that is so wonderful when that happens but it seems that it does not last long enough. So, since we live on this earth, often we spend too more time thinking on earthly “things” than we should. Here is something we can try, “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, SINGING TO GOD WITH GRATITUDE IN YOUR HEART. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, DO IT ALL IN THE NAME OF THE LORD Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Col. 3:16-17)
Remember this very important fact Amy, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is IN YOU, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore HONOR GOD WITH YOUR BODIES.” (1 Corin. 6:19-20) Paul also tells us this about our bodies, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you PRESENT your bodies A LIVING SACRIFICE, HOLY, ACCEPTABLE to God, which is your reasonable service.” (Rom. 12:1) Our careful living for God is so important because He will bless us according to our faithfulness, “May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole,
SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY BE KEPT BLAMELESS AT THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST…(1 Thess. 5:23)
