“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will DECLARE YOUR PRAISE. You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. My sacrifice, O God, is a BROKEN SPIRIT; a broken and CONTRITE (repentant) HEART you, God, will not despise.” (Psalms 51:12, 15-17) You don’t want burnt offerings and sacrificed animals you want our hearts to be right before you Lord.
“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving. This will PLEASE THE LORD more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hooves.” (Psalms 69:30-31) Glorifying the Lord in song with thanksgiving is so much more desirable than offering an ox or a bull.
“…IT PLEASED THE LORD TO BRUISE JESUS; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And THE PLEASURE OF THE LORD SHALL PROSPER in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.” (Isaiah 53:10, 11) It pleased the Lord to offer Jesus up for Amy’s sins. The pleasure of the Lord prospered in this event. That’s how much He loves Amy…An unquestionable amount of love. An unreasonable amount of love
