Mary, the mother of Jesus, spoke of the One who she would give birth to was to be called “my Savior” “…my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.” (Luke 1:47) Our Lord Jesus Himself made it perfectly clear that the primary purpose of His beginning, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension was the salvation of men and women. “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10) And He is the only one that can do this. “Turn to Me and be saved, For I am God, and there is NO OTHER.” (Isaiah 45:22) How well can Jesus do this? “…because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. Therefore He is able to SAVE COMPLETELY (Amy) and those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them.” (Hebrews 7:24-25)
The ultimate passion in the heart of our Savior is the winning of the lost. The greatest need of every lost soul is to be won to the Savior. Now notice this: the winning of the lost to the Savior is to be the ultimate purpose of every Christian. Notice, the greatest business of every Christian, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” (Matthew 28:19)
