Some Pharisees asked Jesus, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?” “Haven’t you read,” Jesus replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two WILL BECOME ONE FLESH‘? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore WHAT GOD HAS JOINED TOGETHER, LET NO ONE SEPARATE.” (Matthew 19:3-6) We have a man and a woman, two entities. God joins these two entities together and makes them “one flesh” a new entity. AN INSEPARABLE ENTITY, joined together by God!!!
When we, by covenant, join Christ’s church, we become, “…MEMBERS OF HIS BODY of His flesh and of His bones. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become ONE FLESH.” This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about CHRIST AND THE CHURCH.” (Eph. 5:30-32) This is also an INSEPARABLE ENTITY.
