“Blessed is the man WHO OBEYS THE WORD OF GOD, and does not follow the advice of evil people. He does not make a habit of doing what sinners do. He does not join those who make fun of the LORD and His Word. Instead, he takes delight in the Word of God. HE MEDITATES ON GOD’S WORD DAY AND NIGHT. He is like a tree that is planted near a stream of water.” (Psa. 1:1-3)
Psalm 1 is the doorway into the Psalms, it tells us what the “BLESSED” LIFE truly is. The Psalms holds before us two ways of life: one is the way of wickedness, the other is the way of wisdom. The wicked way leads to destruction and separation from God, while the wise way points us toward God and HOW TO LIVE FOR HIM. Our culture this day says that there are clearly more ways and paths than these two, and yet the Word of God doesn’t give us this luxury! “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the BLESSING, IF YOU OBEY and a CURSE, IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD YOUR GOD.” (Deut. 11:26-28)
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME.” (John 14:6) Then Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers. I AM THE DOOR. IF ANYONE ENTERS BY ME, HE WILL BE SAVED, and will go in and out and find pasture.” (John 10:7-9)
“…by THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, there is…
NO OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN GIVEN AMONG MEN BY WHICH WE MUST BE SAVED…(Acts 4:10-12)
