REMEMBER, WE ARE NOT AMY’S GOD…

Sometimes we want to be God in our children’s  lives.

  • We want to write their stories.
  • We want to set the courses of their futures.
  • We want to determine what’s best for them.
  • We want to prevent them from ever being hurt.
  • We want to be their provider and protector.
  • And we want to be the one to set anyone straight who messes with our children.

We want to make it all good. But then things happen so beyond our control we eventually have to face the reality that we aren’t God. And we can’t operate like we are. So, how do we deepen our trust in God? How do we make peace with the limits of what we can and cannot protect them from? What do we do with the risky and scary feelings that can make a dad or mom lose sleep at best and feel crazed with fear at worst?

We must fill that gap with the only thing that bridges the space between our limitations and our trust in God… PRAYER.

Dear Lord God please,

  1. Give my AMY a deep desire to listen to You, Lord, and pray often, “What does my Lord say to His servant? (Joshua 5:14)
  2. May AMY find comfort in Your ability Lord, “He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me; For they were too strong for me. (2 Samuel 22:17-18)
  3. Let AMY find confidence in You, Lord, O our God, we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.”(2 Chronicles 20:12).
  4. And every time she hears, Jesus, whisper, “Follow me” AMY will do it with great grace, Then Jesus said, “Follow Me (Matthew 4:19)
